After running Kurland Realty, a successful mid-sized real estate brokerage which found homes for nearly 10,000 clients, from 1997 – 2010, Kevin Kurland transformed his model from the somewhat obsolete traditional one to NY’s only ‘true 100%’ commission firm. According to Kevin, the residential real estate business has had a flawed model especially with the advent of the internet. Having worked for small - large firms, and knowing how hard agents work, Kevin realized that the future of the business was to reward his agents with 100% of the commission and give them all of the resources and support, in exchange for a nominal monthly payment which he calls ‘agent dues’.

Six years ago, Kevin met Bianka Yankov at an interview and history was written. Over the six years Bianka Yankov worked for Kurland Realty, first as a salesperson, then as a Vice President, she was the top producer year in, year out. It was evident to Kevin that Bianka was just as much an entrepreneur as she was an accomplished agent. So in late 2010, Kevin and Bianka joined forces to launch Spire (A Kurland Holdings Co.).
